7. Exam practice. Аудирование.
By the way, do you know this beautiful girl? This is Pink, an American pop singer.
She is popular not only with her songs about love and friendship but also with her
song «Dear Mr. President». Pink said that this song was an open letter to the
President of the USA, George Bush, and that was one of the most important songs
she had ever written. Listen to the song and fill in the gaps in your cards. We’ll
listen to the song twice.
Now let’s read and translate the song.
Answer the question: What`s the message of the song? What is the main idea
of this song and how is it connected with the topic of our lesson?
8. Correction Mistakes. Work in pairs.
And now I want you to read one comment about this song from one of the
American forums. Your task will be to find some mistakes in it. You will work in
pairs.
Let’s translate these words.
Do you agree with these words about politicians?
9. Домашнее задание.
Your hometask for the next lesson will be to write a letter to our President
V.V.Putin. You know, our President speaks English pretty well and so he can read
and understand your letter. It should be about the problems that worry you and
your parents, the problems of our town, our country. Your letter shouldn’t be very
long, just about the size of a page. You know, our President is a busy person and
he doesn’t have time to read long letters. Have you got questions? Is it clear?
10. Подведение итогов урока.
Our lesson is coming to an end. Let’s remember the aim of our lesson. Have we
found out the traits of character necessary for a good politician? Have we achieved
our aim?
11. Рефлексия.
Politicians often give speeches before people and use microphones. Now I want
you to take my microphone and say something about our lesson, try to analyze it.
What was easy?
What was difficult?
What part of the lesson did you like most of all?
Would you like to be a politician yourself? Why/Why not?
Thank you for the lesson!
