My grandfather was awarded two orders and five medals in time of war.
In peacetime, he often recalled the difficult and terrible war times, telling me about
them. In 1966, my grandfather went to Moscow and entered the building of the
Council of Veterans of war, where he met with his brother-soldier, Secretary of the
Board Alexey Maresyev. They talked a long time, recalled the joint service. At the
end of the meeting Alexey Maresyev handed him the book "The Story of a Real
Man" with inscription. This book kept by my aunt. Later they saw each other a
couple more times.
I am proud of my grandfather and I am very pleased that my family was such a
person.

«…-It’s not a crime, it's a fatal mistake. -
muffled replied Goering, frowning her eye -
I can only accept that we were wrong
because. as it turned out during the war,
we didn't know a lot, about many things
could not be suspected. Importantly, we did
not know and did not understand Russian.
They were and remain a mystery. No, most
good agents cannot expose the true
military capabilities of the Soviets. I'm not
talking about the number of guns, planes
and tanks. We knew about. I'm not talking
about power and mobility industry. I'm
talking about people, and Russian people
has always been a mystery for a foreigner.
Napoleon, too, didn't understand him. We
only repeated the mistake of Napoleon…»
We bow to the extraordinary feat of those who did not live to see the victory of May, who
already died, remember their military feat.
